National NHS England WT&E Independent Prescribing Training Offer 2024-25
NHS England Workforce Training & Education (formerly HEE) provides access to fully funded independent prescribing training for pharmacists.
These places are available to pharmacists across England who meet the following eligibility criteria:
Community pharmacists (including locum pharmacists); Pharmacists employed in General Practice (who are not eligible for, or enrolled on, the Primary Care Pharmacy Education Programme (PCPEP) and those who are working to provide primary care services (e.g., working in primary care) who are not employed in ARRS roles); and Health and Justice pharmacists.
Pharmacists enrolled on CPPE’s Primary Care Pharmacy Education Pathway (PCPEP) and meet the PCPEP criteria to enrol on an Independent Prescribing Course.
Pharmacists working in an NHS Hospital Trust or Mental Health Trust (NHS managed sector); pharmacists working in an integrated care board, ICB (previously CCG pharmacists).

New for 2024-25 - London Region Independent Prescribing Offer for London-based pharmacists only
Pharmacy London have commissioned additional independent prescribing places for pharmacists working in London NHS Trusts with our training partner, Kings College London (KCL). Places will be available across two cohorts in Sept 2024 and Feb 2025.
Eligibility
Places will be for pharmacists working in London NHS managed sector acute hospital and mental health Trusts.
Pharmacists working in other sectors of care can access independent prescribing training offers through the NHS England Workforce Training & Education Independent Prescribing offer 2024/25 here.
Eligible pharmacists will need to have (as a minimum):
The support of an identified designated prescribing practitioner (DPP).
An appropriate practice-based learning environment in a prescribing setting that can offer appropriate clinical support.
Commitment to use the skill within your area of competence and expertise, for the delivery of NHS clinical services as they emerge.
Applicants must meet both the NHS England funding eligibility and the KCL course entry requirements.
KCL Application closing dates
Sept 2024 entry: Monday 19th August at 5pm
Feb 2025 intake: TBC in Autumn 2024
